Little help? I have a tascam 414 and I'm getting that ALESIS STUDIO PACK and I wanted to know if I could use the syncronizer (which I can't seem to find anywhere) that is in the manual for the 414 to add more tracks to my adat. I guess the syncronizer uses FSK and the adat uses SYPTE or MTC (so says the manual that I downloaded). Are these timecodes compatible? Is it possible to slave the TASCAM to the adat? If so with what and how much... late, jax

Yes and No.

By using the Tascam sync box and sacrificing 1 track on the tape, you can use the Tascam as the master sync device (since ADATs should chase-lock. I could be wrong here).

The 414 won't chase-lock, so it can't be controlled by the ADAT (so to speak)

The FSK tone used by the Midiizer (the tascam sync box) _is_ in MTC format, if I'm not mistaken.
