picked up one of the older Symetrix 528 "voice processors" the other day and although i've yet to truly put it through its paces (or even use it as a mic pre), the small amount of testing i did using its compressor, desser and eq last night for band practice (using sm58s and senn e835's as mics) has really stepped up the calber of my vocal recordings. talk about immediately noticible!
i'm dying to get down there tonight and lay some stuff down using my RE38 into it. This thing is just so smooth and warm that it's not even funny. i can imagine an SM7 being deadly through this thing.
i'd give it 3 thumbs up, but that would require dropping trou in public.
