mhhh,
this should be possible, i read my Motu manual, it explains a bit how this works... but i haven't figured it out....

so i know how i can record and add FX to that track emediately while recording, BUT i don't hear any of the fx while recording.....

what i want is to put Real Time FX on what i record...AND LISTEN TO IT in real time .... so i want to monitor the fx on my recording channel...

seems like i can only monitor dry signals, even if i put a reverb on the channel i'm recording to...

i'm working with this guitarist who's dying to hear some extra reverb and delay on his track, LIVE while he plays,,,, i don't care wheater it gets recorded or not.... just wanna know, is it possible...(hope so and think so)..
and.... how to?

sorry for bothering

cheers!

I think you can add FX on the input channel strip while recording in SX. I am not 100% sure if it will record the effect or not, but you can monitor it.

If it doesn't record the effect just copy and paste the input channel strip to the recorded audio track. I hope this wasnt confusing.

Turn off direct monitoring if you want to monitor FX while tracking. Am not sure if u can print FX through the input channel during record, I tend to go the non-destructive root and monitor through the channel strip. ;)

cool, i found it,
indeed, need to turn off direct monitoring,
now i hear reverb and stuff on my voice :)
thats exactly what my singers want....and i don't have Any reverb units in my 19" rack... i still have a little latency, but its OK

and yeah, its possible to record live fx, but prefer not to do that,
FX while singing and playing are to please the musicians,
i want it clean, i'll mess everything up later in the mix
