Suggestions ON new Amp

I currently own the Line 6 Vetta combo, which has treated me fairly but it is just not for me, so I have decided to pick up another amp. I think a 212 is all I need. I play in 5 piece band that plays rock (like a alice in chains type sound, as well as a # of classic rock covers). Any suggestions on a good all purpose 212 tube amp.

Transformer 212, never been so impressed with any other amp's sound. You can dial in a classic 5150 sound with no problem...

Eddie, you're in a 5 piece band.

Get a Marshall 50w JCM800 tube head and 4x12 straight cab rock the house.

You'll have to get the head used of course.

I've got a traynor ycv-40 - sounds awesome-all tube, It's only got 1 12 inch speaker, but plays loud. they have a 2 10 and a 4 10 that was mentioned above. It was the only amp that I played and said I had to have it.

it may be too heavy for you, but i recommend the carvin mts3200. i havent really tried to get a different sound from my heavy distortion but its worth a try. anyone else wanna second this?

Any budget limitations?

In the mid to higher-priced combo amps I would take a very close look at the Gibson Goldtone GA30RV or GA60RV. First of all because of their outstanding tone, but also their incredible versatility. The 30 Watt version is all-tube Class A with 1x12 plus 1x10, and the 60 Watt is A/B with 2x12 Vintage 30's.

Just take a look at the glowing user reviews on Harmony Central. These amps are somewhat under the radar, unlike Fenders, Marshalls, Boogie, et all, but man, they rock!

Other than that, and at a somewhat higher price point, I would look at the Bogner combos, Diezel, or Dr. Z.

For a more affordable tube amp I tend to agree with Traynor recommended above.

I don't have any recommendations for solid-state or modeling amps, as I'm not knowledgeable about them, preferring all-tube myself.

Good post. Also check into "Rivera" amps as well. Might find something you like.

as for budget.......I would say 2k would be my limit, depending on how much I get for my vetta trade or sell.
any buyers lol..........
