I love the sound of the P-bass, but prefer the feel of the neck of a Jazz bass. I've looked at PJs but since I'm not really a bass player, I just settle for my cheapo Peavey bass. I keep thinking that one day I'll come across something that gives me that sound but feels good in my hands.
One of my oldest friends played a p-bass back when, and after I left the band we were in together, I moved west to go to a luthier school. I was back briefly visiting family and he was in a band with a guy who played a BC Rich guitar. So I whipped up a body to kind of match .

Over 3 decades later (and almost 10 years ago) my sister was emptying our parents’ home and her husband called and said he found something that looked like a guitar body and sent me a pic. Turned out to be the original p-bass body, so I asked my friend if he wanted it, and he said he was no longer playing the one I’d modified (solid maple body was a bit heavy!) so I arranged to try and put it back together. Most little parts were all gone but he loves the “original” form.
