I've been on the look out for some cheap vintage microphones ($50-100).
I'm after a raw, dirty sounding microphone for overheads, guitars and atmosphere recording. I don't really know much about microphones, so would anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Thankyou.

"Cheap", "Vintage" and "Good" are not words used to describe a single product often. You could have any two of those things together, but not all three.

here are some CHEAP, VINTAGE mics that i have used to
GOOD effect for getting a raw/dirty sound:p

Astatic 10-DA
Astatic DN-HZ
AMERICAN D-8
SHURE 737
SHURE DY-30
TURNER 34X
TURNER U9S

or just search ebay... "vintage mic"

oh, and pay close attention to connectors/plugs they usually
need special cables

Peace

Thanks for the suggestions, just having a look on ebay.

I have come across these:
-TELEFUNKEN D11-C
-TELEFUNKEN TD 21
-AKG D 1000-C
-BEYER M 55

Anyone know much about these makes?
And are the cables easy to transfer to XLR?

I thought good was implied. If you don't want good, go to ebay and buy old crap.
