I have a DM Pro kit I use for tracking drums to my 8-track analog. I set the speed very sensitive to get the best acoustic imitation I can, but this obviously increases the signal's dynamic range. I run my outs on the DM Pro to a Joe Meek MQ3 for a little compression (but namely for the color it gives) then to stereo tracks (1 and 2) on the board. It sounds good to me, but I want to make sure I'm not crossing any basic line that I shouldn't be or anyone have suggestions for improvement (besides buying an acoustic kit)?

The brain gives me pretty good control over each individual component, and that is definitely the savior of my setup. Man it would be sweet to be able to have every component on its own track. Once I bring other instruments into the mix, I would be able to re-mix the drum pieces accordingly. Next purchase will be digital, probably computer-based, so with the right numbers of I/Os that will be possible. Excellent suggestion and thanks for the input.
