mine I thinkare blown in the right ear -- "buzzy". THey weren;t very good anyhow (sony CD50).

want to use with my BR-8. will eventually get some proper monitors. currently running through stereo AUX input for no headphone checks.

thanks in advance.

What's your price range?

I have three suggestions. AKG 240m, Audio Technica m40fs's and Sony V900.

I auditioned all three and I could quickly rule out the AKG's as being less detailed than the other two. The Sony's hyped up the low and high end. The Audio Technica's I thought were the most accurate (flat) and most detailed. I bought them! Price ~$130.

You should check out the Sennheisers HD600's. I haven't auditioned them but people swear by them... Price: ~$300, and up.

Cans, man. You say CANS? The Beyer 770's are fine cans. You can of course always pay more and more and more; but I have Sony cans, and AKG cans, and tin cans, and a garbage can; however, the Beyer 770 cans are the best.

I am currently waiting for a pair of JVC cans which are wireless. I like to use wireless with my singing clients -- they feel less restricted. I also have a pair of Koss wireless cans but they are not high quality although they work.

I want to use the JVC cans to also sit outside with a cold one and listen to my music or others' music and enjoy the remaining days of non-snow weather.

Sony MDR7506's......do a search an you'll see how many agree....

I think the MDR-7506's are too expensive for what you get because they're marketed as "DJ" headphones.

In this price range the Sony V600's and V900's are better values and more comfortable too.

I have both ATH40s and Sony MDR-V700s. For doing dance production I love the Sony's as nothing I've heard comes close for bass reproduction. I hear things on the Sonys that just don't come out of the ATs. For other production the ATs are probably better.

thanks everyone. I will see if I can try some out ahead of time. the Sony MDR-7506 seems to get the most props, so i lean toward that.

Green Hornet. Yeah if there is a Katt WOman, there needs to be a KatmanDUDE to keep her company. ;~()

the wireless option is something else I'd like to consider if they are good. Maybe as the second set. Man we all have enough wires around to get tangled in these little home studios

thanks again. this is a great board.
