I have a set of Audio-Technica ATH-M3X.....says Digital Monitors.....they worked great for a while but now the sound is getting distorted. Right now these earphones are the only thing i have to record/mix with on my recorder. I cant afford to get some monitors right now. Any suggestions how i can fix the distortion or other earphones under 100bucks?

It's expensive mixing with cans.

You can't afford not to either.

True.....lol i might just save the money and buy a good set of monitors

Sony Sucks for cans. I have 7506s vx700s and v900s. I mix on AKG240DFs which take a ton of juice to run. A good headphone or the money is a grado sr60 at 69$ they are not flat though. Yamaha makes good studio monitoring cans. The best cans in the world are sennheisers and the HD497 is a good can in your price range. If you are going to mix on them you need 'open' headphones. Sony 7506's are closed headphones which makes them ideal for djing or tracking at the expense of fidelity.

none of those cans will give you an honest soundstage though.

Blue Bear- Do you know of any articles that can explain why "I cant mix with headphones?" I think an article with that title or something similar would really be helpful here. Even more if it was writtin by you.
