Hi

And btw, i do know a fair bit about music tech, so please dont just dismiss me cos im a youngen!

and also, sorry if this is the wrong forum to post in, but it looked the most attractive at the time.

i dont like to do this, but i need to get a move on with my application, so BUMP!!! :)

The younger you are the better...

Write to as many as you can find. Really, you may be surprised at how many are interested. You may also be surprised at how many are not interested. Grab a yellow pages or something, and write, write, write!!

Don't write one generic letter, and try to find out a little about each studio you write to and incorporate your knowlage of the studio into your letter.

You really need to put yourself out there and work hard on your research coz you won't be the only one asking.

Sorry I can't be more help, but unless you are the luckiest git in old London town, you'll need to work your tits off to get a place.

Good luck ;)

i agree, dont just write the same old 'ive always liked music..' letter, try to add some knowledge in there and show how keen you are. i was in your place about 3-4 years ago and i wrote to about 5-6, only 2 replied, one stating they didnt have any jobs available (Obviously read the letter very well..) and the other was an independent studio run by a a guy. i visited it only for a day and gained so much knowledge i couldnt have done from college or books.

Anyway, the bottom line, get writing as many as you can and really put yourself out there like 'My Name' above said.

Good luck man,

thanks a lot to everyone who has replied to this, its been so helpful, once again thanks.

Just one last thing if anyone is interested, would it be a good idea to include a sample of my music with the cv, or will it just get ignored?

cheers in advance

I would say no to that, i doubt they would listen to it if you included it, plus it would be alot more extra cost to include them in your letter.

I would just get a nice letter sorted, like stated above, make it nice and presentable and write it to show how keen you are to get practice in.

Let us know how you get on,

Good luck mate.
