And with one post you prove everything I just said!

I don't even know what the fuck you're saying anymore, Noisedude. You've just gotten really weird since you last hung out at this board. Where have you been?

everybody on this whole bbs

is pretty fucking wierd

and what's with the .

at the end of your posts?

that's pretty wierd

at least as wierd

as my posting format

I put the goddamn period at the end of every post,

because I don't have a sig line,

and without a sig line, there's like zero space

between the end of my post

and the bottom of the box or whatever. :D

So everything looks scrunched at the bottom

and it's harder on the eyes.

So why don't I just do a freakin' sig line?

Because I have absolutely nothing witty to say

So I'm just going to go with the damn period, alright? :D

Ya see Keith

When you stay away

from Studio Projects threads

it turns out

you're still a funny guy.
.

See, now I got you doing it, too.

Before long, everyone's going to be doing it, and I'll have to find some other creative means of adding space at the bottom.

Like 2 dots.

LMBO! It's better than watching Beavis and Butthead here. Man I can't believe how stupid this thread got. Bwahahahahahahaha

On a serious note I looked at the Studio Projects preamp and opted to spend a bit more on the Focusrite Trackmaster Pro. That was just a decision I thought would be better for my recording situation.

So saith another Queen of cheap chinese trash - too bad so many on your last group buy had broken mics delivered to them

Out of almost 100 mics, 3 had minor problems, and many who purchased, are getting even more this time around

who'da guessed?

wow, i started this thread, and as you can see from my signature, i'm not a professional engineer (i know it's a shocking admission). i was just looking for info to corroborate or negate my own research on the vtb-1, and as it turns out, i don't even think i'm going to buy it--i have bigger fish to fry right now (namely new hi-hats to replace my cracked ones). but what i find amusing that no one seemed to notice is this:

"For one I have to get permission from people before I post their music (already told you that) - unless you want to go to the store and buy their CDs"

so this guy can't even play a note! my guess is that most people on this bbs are recording musicians trying to make cds for their own gratification. this guy could have the recording chops of steve albini, the budget of the saud family, and the equipment of any fine pro la or ny studio. but he can't play! ok, recordingpro, i'll concede that you can probably get a more professional-sounding recording than i can. but somehow, in the past 30 years, i've managed to learn guitar, bass, piano, violin, drums, dulcimer, sitar, and mandolin, and i'm just now getting good at capturing it on media, albeit in a modest basement studio! some day i'll replace my alvarez acoustic with a martin, my aria pro with a prs, my akai with pro tools, and my perception 200 with a u87. in the meantime, i'll sit back and just be happy to make AND record my own music.
sheesh.

Not to defend recordingpro, but to dump on a recording engineer because he doesn't play a musical instrument is just fucking ignorant.

Sheesh.

True, but we still don't have any proof he's even an engineer. :o

I don't think that drossfile was dumping on recordingpro at all.

recordingpro indicated that he doesn't play a lick.

drossfile acknowledged that fact, and he also stated that recordingpro could possibly have superior chops and is a liar.

Who's to know what the real truth is?

well i'm glad you added to the civility of this whole mess. i wasn't dumping on him in any regard other than his complete arrogance towards others, and felt it prudent to point out that we can't all be as professional as he claims to be, yet isn't the whole point of the recording industry to capture music? i'll give anyone with proven ability his due, but this guy is such a jackass about his unproven ability, and he can't even make the music he's supposedly so great at recording! that was my only point, so don't be a dick about it.
