Damn. The "late" Harvey Gerst slip nearly ruined my day...

I'd be bummed to hear that anyone I "know" here passed on, but that would have been a first. Internet "life" just became a little more real...

Well, it didn't make my day too thrilling either. I just turned 69 a few weeks ago, so everyday that I wake up is a good day.

Still, when I read that, I asked myself if he knew something that I didn't?

Perhaps "tardy" or "frequently absent" would have been better choices than "late".

Mr Recordingpro still hasn't explained the presence of two non SP Chinese mics in his list.

How come SPs suck but GTs are good enough?

Now I get why you don't like SP, you don't have any trashy mics in your collection. I love my trashy old mics (EV 676, SM54audio technica Pro 4L, Unidyne IV...) they're always got some sort of neat purpose and can make a particular item sound amazing.

actually there is a C1 and B1 in the collection - so I'm very familiar with how they sound :eek:

The gt44s are great - the gt33's suck assssss
 
Same damn mic, only one has a tube in it. How the hell can there be such a vast difference?

Those don't count. I mean weird old dynamics. If you're a pro, you'll have them lying around. You know, the stuff you started out on.
