The B3 shockmounts have shipped out from our building and should be on the shelves in stores next week. What is it that bothers you about the mic clip?

Hey Brent, I like my two SP B3 mic's, but I hate the cheap plastic mic holders that came with them and I need two B-series shockmounts for my SP B3 mics... when are the dealers going have the B-series shockmounts for sale? Thanks, DJL

Ah ok. But how can you have a 1-mic bluegrass band with a B3 and an AT 4041?

I use my B3 in omni mode for a 1 mic bluegrass band. It also sounds great on my J-45. Maybe it's a Gibson thang. I like to put an AT 4041 at the 12th fret, then the B3 out about 2 feet, aimed at the bottom of the bridge.

Brent, I know that budget crush well. My bucks went really far on my Seagull Grand parlor style guitar. Bought it four years ago and haven't been jonesing that hard for another acoustic 6 since, although the boutique stuff dazzles for a while. But mine just sounds good, plays comfortably, and its compact size makes it effortless to hold and transport. I also liked the Larrivee Parlor models when I played them in stores. Similar pricing, size, sound, and playability. I don't consider these at all in the same class as a typical starter guitar, as it'll always be convenient as a second or alternate instrument (like for Nashville tuning or another alt tuning).

BTW, any developement on small diaphragm tube condensors?

The Studio Projects B3 is a nice mic and I own two of them. However, the swivel on the B3 mic holder doesn't stay in place.

You have to pop off the covers on the "round" part underneath the clip. Inside, there are 2 screws back-to-back that you need to tighten. It'll work fine after that.

Cool, that worked. However, one of the little plastic tits broke off one of the round plastic bolt covers on the mic holder when removing it, so now it won't stay on, lol. Oh well, at least the B3 mic holders work now, and I guess I don't need the cheap little bolt covers on the mic clip anyway. Thanks for the tip.

Mine did the same thing. (I was being careful, too!) I just took the other cover off and threw them both away, lol.

Flatpicker is correct. The clip is fine, you just need to tighten it. If you look at the clip itself, there is two round plastic covers, one on each side of the clip. Carefully pull off the round plastic cover to reveal the aluminum colored screw. Be careful not to force the cover off. It will come off, but you do not want to break it. Tighten
each screw on each side enough to make the clip sung. When you are done tightening it, replace the round plastic covers carefully.

The clip works well when adjusted, but the Shock Mount at $19.99 is a steal.....:D

Hey Alan,I stripped out the threads in my mic clip by being a dumbass.I've been using it anyhoo but I'm afraid that I'm going to end up dropping my TB-1 cause I'm too lazy and cheap to do anything about it.I was thinking of getting another clip but since you mentioned a $20 shock mount I think that might be the way to go.Can I order it from you or do I have to go through a SP dealer?

Alan,
Does the Shock mount work with the B3? I can't see how it would grab the B3 since it has a switch on both sides. Do you have a picture?

The clip that came with my B1 was stripped the first time I tried to use it. Not the end of the world since I plan on getting the shockmount, but its annoying in the meantime.

Does ANYONE know where I can buy Studio Projects B3 mic shockmounts for $19.99? Thanks

Anyone that has a bad clip will have it replaced if you let us know.

The new mopunt should sell for $19.99, and it works with all three models of B Series. It is quite cleaver and works with the XLR housing on the bottom of the mic...It does work well.

Dealers need to get them in as I think for $19.99, everyone will want one for their B Series mic. The idea was to make it very affordable for our customers, so we did.

Happy Holidays to all of you. I am very happy now that I am in Hawaii on vacation!
