Just a point of comparision....

As a point of comparison, when I sent one of my Sennheiser MD-421's in for factory servicing, it took 3-1/2 months to get it back. :(

I appreciate the effort Brent. And look forward to using the B-1 again. While it was working: perfect. I'm interested to know the malfunction cause. I'm not sure how it shipped. I will check.

wow, those pmi people seem really nice. mabye i should buy a mic from them and break it just so i have someone to talk to!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: these PMI folks have been exceptionally professional and helpful in my past dealings with them. It's clear to me that they are really working hard to achieve a larger market share, and that's fine with me.

I've added them to my short list of companies that have served me well when problems arose. Maybe we should collaborate to produce a master list?

Good luck with your repair,

J.

When I got my first B-1 I wasn't that gun-ho about it. For one I was comparing it to another mic in it's price range which was the V67g for me. But I pulled it out a few weeks ago and started applying it to different vox , cabs, etc, and I was surprised.

Different mics for different applications.

Whats a good SP mic thats a step up from a V69?
My next $$ mic purchase will be that Stephen Paul if it goes well in here.

Oh, And the B-1 is a good mic for the purchase

Malcolm

So skeelsd, what did they tell you the cause of the 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 malfunction was? Thanks

I'll be sure to pass along the information when I get it myself.

Notice that DJL keeps bumping this thread so it stays near the top of the board with fact filled posts like

and

Thanks skeelsd.

This is a DJL wet dream post...someone actually had a problem with a Studio Projects mic. Multiple opportunities to make little aside comments like this one

I hope you get your Studio Projects B1 mic fixed, replaced, or get a refund that you can put towards getting a better mic.

and this one

I'm curious how long it takes them to correct the problem so please keep me up to date with what happens.

...even though Richie Monroe stated right in this thread that when he had a problem with one of his C4's it took exactly 4 days to get the issue resolved.

Go, Rain Man, Go!

H2oskiphil,

What I've noticed is... you've contributed little to nothing to this bbs and most of your post are you just trying to start flame wars.

Not trying to start flame wars.

Just trying to point out that you have an agenda and take every opportunity to slam Studio Projects products, sometimes telling outright lies to make them look bad.

I feel that's a HUGE contribution to this BBS-without people like me, people like you might actually be believed.

Well, at least now everyone knows your agenda is just to slam me.

Man ... I've been away a week and this is how far you got???
Yeah, we are still waiting to hear from skeelsd what happened. I hope you had a nice week... and welcome back.

Thanks ... I see you have your finger in a few SP-thread-shaped pies again ... ;)

Yeah noisedude, and I've been reading on some of the other web sites that all the 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 mics don't sound the same. I think the two 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1's that I had and sold were pretty close... but, I wonder if there is a quality control issue with Studio Projects like Harvey said about Oktava?

maybe ... but maybe that's an ok price to pay for getting good mics for not much money?

No dog in this hunt gentlemen besides trying to get a mic fixed.
