Studio Projects B1 with DUO problem

Im having a problem with my SP B1... I was recording all morning with my mxl v67 through a M-audio duo. Everything was going great until i recieved my new B1 via UPS. I opened the box, and hooked it up through the DUO, and all of a sudden the all the DUO lights went on and the DUO crapped out on me, and refused to work anymore. Im not sure if its the mic that casued this, but it seems to be the only thing that could have. The CLIP and SIGNAL LEDs went on, and stayed on. Now my mxl doesnt even work though it. I dont know whats going on. Please help.

Check the XLR cable you used with the B1 to make sure it' ok... and email Alan Hyatt at PMI and ask him to help you.
 
I checked the XLR cable, and that didnt change a thing. Im not sure if I had phantom power on, what effect would that have had?

You should always turn the gain down and the phantom power off before connecting or un-connecting any mic's to your preamps so it don't screw it up... you could have shorted-out the supply.
 
That may be what happened. But either way im afriad to plug the B1 in again... What do you think.

I wouldn't be afriad to plug the B1 in again... just make sure your XLR cable is good and you turn down the gains and have the supply off before connecting or un-connecting any mic's to the preamp from now on.
 
The Duo does that from time to time. Just unplug it, and plug it back in, and it should be fine.

BTW: What kind of drivers/OS are you using with the Duo? I have given up on mine. I just run it's S/PDIF output into an SB-Live...

Im using the ASIO drivers that came with the DUO. Im running on XP through cubase sx. It seems to be working great as of now...
Although it has only been 3 or 4 days.
