Hi everyone, I'm new! I record demos and such for my band but most of my work is EDM.
I've been taking steps to reduce the general noise of my studio. Removed the dimmer switch from the room. Using better quality cabling. Wiring things up to avoid power cables crossing signal cables and such. It's all made a noticable difference. My studio is much quiter.
The noise which is left now is what concerns me. I took two cables from two outputs and looped them into my preamps and recorded the result. I boosted the volume to hear what was going on and to my suprise, it contained audible pitchs. Now I must say, I don't use alot of gear. PC, M-audio 610 interface, Mackie monitor and sub, a midi controller and a NI mashine. Pretty basic.
I've attached a sample of the boosted noise and a freq analysis. Just looking at the harmonics I can make out an F#(5oct), but there is obviously more going on futher up the graph. Any idea what might be the cause of this and more importantly, how to get rid of it!! Also, any ideas what might be causing all the bass noise?
