Studio Monitors

On the back of a studio monitor, does it have a - + cords? Or is it just a 1/4 or 1/8" jack? Also, what's the difference between powered and unpowered? I have a SB Audigy 2, I'm still trying to figure out if I can put another card in the computer, for the monitors and recording, but use the audigy for games and movies.. Is that possible also?

A powered monitor has built-in amp.

Yes, it's possible to have more than one card.
 
audigy 2 works with other soundcards without a problem, esp with the Delta series.
 
Well do you set the program settings that invovles recording or playback, to whitch card you'd like? As far as recording card and audigy 2?
 
oh! each card comes with its own control panel. You can use any card you like while recording. You can have the recording input as the new soundcard and playback in audigy or you can use one card for all your recording needs and the audigy for your gaming and personal use. Audigy is not a bad card for recording too, I've done so many recordings in it a while ago and it has is the most easy control panel, so you can't go wrong.

-/+ if it's unpowered; 1/4", XLR or RCA (or all of the above) if it's powered.

Also, what's the difference between powered and unpowered?

Powered monitors have amplifiers built-in. Unpowered monitors require a separate power amp.
 
So unpowered monitors with the -/+ connection go to a amp, and I am guessing amp to another peice of equiptment, that goes to computer? Which ones cost more than the other, which is better?

Not this again!!! How many times are you going to ask the same question! YES YOU CAN HAVE TWO CARDS IN THE SAME COMPUTER. YOU CAN USE ONE FOR GAMES AND THE OTHER FOR RECORDING! The computer technology has not downgraded since the last few threads you asked this question. :rolleyes:
