Hey folks,
I am looking for a set of monitors for the MBOX2(new or used)...under $200, maybe? Any suggestions?

Respectfully,

Phil

Well it will be tough finding a set of monitors for $200...

I just Picked up a set of Powered Monitors for $300 ($150 each) Canadian which were the cheapest ones that they had so you could probably find these same Monitors in the US for about $225 new....

the ones I got were "YorkVille YSM2P Active Monitors" , They are 46w (32w + 14w) combined Power and have a 5 1/4in Woofer and a 1 1/2in Tweeter and are Bi-Amped which means there is a seperate amp for the Woofer and tweeter and each speaker has it"s own set of built in amps....

They are Surpriseingly Loud for such small speakers and have a very clear and detailed sound but since they are my first set of real studio monitors I don"t have anything to compare them to accept for the Monitors I Listened to at the store when buying these ones...i also listened to a set of Behringer Truth monitors and a set of Yahama monitors which were both quite a bit more expensive than the Yorkville ones and the Yorkville ones had a better sound than the Behringer Truth monitors with a much better sounding low end and they sounded very simular to the Yahama monitors and were louder than the Yahama ones but the Yahama ones had a better sounding High end...

Here is a Review of the Yorkville monitors which are probably the closest to your Price range ...

M-Audio has some new Pro studio monitors for $99 pair, never heard them but Guitar Center has them. 3" drivers. These and a Sub would be best bet for $200.

As I said before, you get what you pay for.
In this price range, you ain't gonna get much better for $50 or $100 more.

i got some bx8s..i think i bought thm for 350 and they sound great..i know a lot of people dont like them..but unless your a very sessoned vet, i dont think you will be able to tell the diffrence..they work great for me...very crisp and load..maybe lacking a bit on the low end..but they are grrat for the money.
