I really like that product, it's good for attaching to the bottom of monitors that you plop on a desk too, and lots cheaper than MoPads.

Speaker cabinet will be 18x24x12 (I like BIG speakers), I had the carpenter bang out the boxes for me, since I suck bad at that stuff. He did cabinets for the two mains plus a sub in a morning, which included a trip to HD to buy the MDF . . . that would have taken me a week

Now I just need to route them and install the drivers

Finally (for now), the studio's secret weapon: a humidifier! The HVAC work was very successful, with the baffled intake (just below this picture) and massive insulation around the unit, it is very quiet in the room now.

Just in time for AC season! Ooops . . .

I am almost through with mine, but the drum room still needs clouds and wall absorbers. Then I'll post my pics as well.

Quick update, I spent the day on speaker construction, so I have a few pics. I started with my massive LFE subwoofer/mic test box. It has a 10" woofer and a 8" full-range driver in the same box, they are switchable so there is no crossover or anything like that.

This is going in a space in the wet bar where the icemaker used to be, so it's about that size--130L internal volume!

Here with both drivers in place--not attached yet, just an audition. Also there is a rear port, terminal, and switch, so it was a lot of routing for one box. I'm hoping to finish this box and the two mains by the end of the week, and wire up the wall jacks in the studio too. That will just leave the rest of the wall treatments, I am waiting on track to hang that, it will come in two weeks

I've subcontracted most of the mic work now--this is about two minutes before he grabbed my clippers and cut the lead on my solder pencil

It's my home, pretty much custom built as my test lab/mastering suite/office/general screwing around room. I do my own tracking here but I never intend to offer commercial tracking. I don't like people that much

Today I bought a rug for the drums, hung a curtain rod, and mounted the speaker frames back on the wall, with the grille cloth attached.

I'm aiming to be completely finished by the end of the month

Getting near the end . . .

Speakers are done, at least the mains and the sub/test box. Didn't have a lot of time to test them yet, the mains sound real, real good. I will need some time to decide if I want to go three-way (I left space), but for now I am happy.

The sub . . . meh, sounds terrible. Port probably needs tuning but the big box was pretty much for the 8" full range speaker that sits on top of the sub--not that it needs a big box, but it fits where an icemaker use to be . . . the idea being I can torture that speaker during mic tests and stop thrashing the mains. I don't see the sub getting a lot of use, but there is a switch on the front to go between the sub and the test speaker.

Quick update, last week I finished the fabric edge around the floating cloud--it's all filled with 4" rigid above the tile (pic below)--and just today I FINALLY finished wiring all the mic & headphone jacks through to the back of the rack I have 10 mic jacks and 9 headphone jacks installed around the room, so I never have to run more than 10 or 15 feet of cable from the wall

This process was delayed somewhat when I decided to build a pipe organ . . . that required MIDI and power cabling to be installed behind the rack, that is done now too. I also have a MIDI jack in the room too

Nearly all the wall/ceiling treatments are done too, just a little bit of minor work there.

I just might finish this someday
