Strat vs Tele neck p/u size

OK, if I already had a pickguard and body rout that was sized for a strat middle p/u, would a tele neck p/u fit in that slot, or is a tele neck p/u longer or wider ('fatter')?
 
The standard Tele neck pickup (does it have the chrome cover?) has a smaller width. Not sure about the length, but would think it is close. Note the mounting is not the same - strats usually have pickups mounted to the pickguard.
 
Well, I know there's a Strat that does have a tele neck p/u mounted in the middle, in an HSH setup, much like the Nashville Tele has a Strat in the middle. I'm just potentially wanting to replace a middle strat with a tele neck, in an HSH Tele. Might just leave the strat in the middle, not sure. Wish I could find a strat middle that I like. Heck, I may end up not getting the guitar anyway.

But I think I might. :D
