Strap on eh? ;)

Good mix eck - the drums are pretty cool. I like the panning they have that fills up the whole soundscape. Thebass drum has a cool thwap to it. The levels are pretty nice except I would try and boost the vocals just a bit - little hard to make out what the guy is singing. They do seem to kick in at the end where it starts to fade......

Glad you like the kick drum. Its quite beefy I think. :) Not too much slap.
I agree about the vocals. Im trying mix so that the guitars still ahve alot of driving power in the song, but the vocals are clear and not too hidden if you know what I mean.

For the intro I doulbe tracked the floor tom and panned it both ways. Sounds nice I think, although a bit different from the norm I suppose.
I added a good bit of stereo reverb to the OHs at the intro and some at the heavy bit also. I think this gave the mix more dimensions in the overall drum stereo spread.

freaking awesome eck! i really like it. nice work. i can't offer much criticism, i think the vox levels are OK, a little low in the beginning, but i think that's on purpose, right? the rest of the song sounds great to me.
 
The fade in is pretty slow & from VERY quiet.
I agree with ido1957 re the vocals - I get it about being a little buried, particularly in the build up, but he sound too distant for the most part.
Generally a very nice mix mate. Well done.

Ok Im going to try and boost the vox a bit, prob with EQ rather than just the faders.

Nice intro, a bit quiet overall, but when raised up sounds real nice. Nice mood and clean sound. I agree with those two above about the vox volume. Although I think they sound cool low at first, so I'd recommend maybe starting them at that volume and fading them up to a louder volume slowly. Ending sounds great to me, I'm no mixmaster, but the mix sounds real good to me., Cheers :cool:

I fixed the vox by boosting them a tad, and some volume automation. Sounds alot better, although I havent updated the link!
