Strange number of "Guests" in the mp3 clinic

Here's what I'm wondering:

At any one time there may be several members looking in here (if you check at the bottom of the forum page), but much of the time there will be 40 - 150 "guests" looking in. The odd thing is that no more than one or two guests will be looking at threads on the first page - I've checked on that a dozen times or so. Odd, since most viewers look ONLY on the first page. What threads are they looking at? Who are they? Are they manufacturers and retailers checking out what we all use for gear? Are they "bots" from the high tech principals like MS or Google, looking for info on online communities? It's weird. [Twilight Zone music] What do you think it is? Am I paranoid?

*Lifts up blanket and pokes head out* .....Are you talking to me?......... *Looks over shoulder*

I definitely see a song coming out of this... "Who are they?"
We have no communication with "the other ones" since they aren't registered.. maybe they can't register because they aren't human at all. LIke studying our internet behavior from afar and stealing our music for themes to intergalactic coffee houses and elevators.
It's has to be something like that

haha... before i heard about this site, i used to google a bunch of stuff, trying to find answers.... and one day it took me to this page. and the way that it(google) takes you to this page, you have no idea when the threads were posted--- it just gives you a list of clickable topics.

then i just so happened to find the "register" page, after a few hours of looking around... so i registered :)

maybe thats why??

Yeah it's probably related to that. Since all the search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc have bots visiting all the pages out there to categorize them, and since each of the mp3 clinic’s 150,000 stored posts might appear as a separate page to the bots, it makes sense that at any one time there would be a lot of them visiting the clinic.

Do you think the bots listen to the music too? Do they like it? Will they start making comments or posting their own stuff? What would bot rock sound like? Bot metal? Guess it would all have to be MIDI, huh, since they're bots? But perhaps the "bots" are really third-world human workers sitting at computers in dirt floored huts, visiting page after page, getting paid 10 cents a day.

10 cents a day?? I wanna be Metal Bot....I think I need that job.... :D

I think the "guests" may in fact be spies from the Recording Industry Ass. Of America looking for illicitly posted mp3's of Ricky Martin tunes. Beware.

a.

Prepare now.

From an official AFDB website. Doesn't mention bots specifically but you can extrapolate:

--------------------------------------------
"What Is An AFDB?
An Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie (AFDB) is a type of headwear that can shield your brain from most electromagnetic psychotronic mind control carriers. AFDBs are inexpensive (even free if you don't mind scrounging for thrown-out aluminium foil) and can be constructed by anyone with at least the dexterity of a chimp (maybe bonobo). This cheap and unobtrusive form of mind control protection offers real security to the masses. Not only do they protect against incoming signals, but they also block most forms of brain scanning and mind reading, keeping the secrets in your head truly secret. AFDBs are safe and operate automatically. All you do is make it and wear it and you're good to go! Plus, AFDBs are stylish and comfortable."
--------------------------------------------------

However be warned that there is evidence that such protective gear actually may AMPLIFY brain-controlling radio waves from the visiting bots. From the Slashdot Technical Forum:

Read This and Be Afraid - Very Afraid.

EDIT: Oh my God. Right now I'm alone in the clinic with 48 "guests".

Tim

Oh, man.

What if it starts to become like 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'? Like possibly the 'guests' are taking over members' screen names without anyone else's knowledge.

How do we know that that is the real Timothy Lawler?
It sounds like TL, but I can't be entirely certain.

And Snakedog has been acting strange lately. . . on second thought he has always acted strange.

Makes one wonder. . .

Yes.

From Hal

[Hal's voice gets even more exaggerated in its comforting tone] You've been wearing your alumimum foil hat again, haven't you Dave, er... I mean... Incanus? Incanus, please take the hat off. There's... absolutely nothing... to be... concerned about.

Maybe Snakedog has always been one of "them", working from the inside as a "member" and passing info back to the guests  We better watch his board behavior even more carefully, for he may be dangerous.
