Sorry if this isn't where I'm supposed to post this, I figured this was kind of an amateur thing so I just went here.
Anyway, I went out and bought new headphones tonight, wanted something high-quality within a reasonable budget to listen to music with at home, to monitor any recording I might do for class at home, and (this is where the problem I'm having comes into play) to play through my amp when it's too late to play through the speaker.
The headphones themselves work great for the first two functions, but come time to play through my amp I'm only getting sound through the left ear.
The headphones I purchased are the Sennheiser HD 202s. I own a Blackstar HT40 amp.
I'm trying to use the emulated output on the back through a 1/8" to 1/4" jack that came with the headset, and besides the jack I am plugging in directly to the amp. I did some research beforehand, and found that this was safe to do, but please correct me if I'm wrong before I do any serious damage.
So I ask simply, how can I get sound to both ears? I did try Googling this beforehand and found that people had this issue using mono headphones, and they were suggested to buy a 1/8" mono to 1/4" stereo jack, but I couldn't find anything relating to my specific issue. If that somehow will fix my issue, let me know, I just wanted to clarify with people who I can assume know more about this than I do before I go spending any money on something that I might not need.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.. I hope I provided enough details and a coherent enough post to get the answer I'm looking for.
