Im trying to hook up a discman to my stereos aux, The cd player on the stereo stopped working but it has 2 6.5" speakers in a tube,
and I like the way it sounds.
They both have 3.55 mm input, output.
I cant find this wire anywhere, do you know what its called?

Only thing I found was 3.5 to rca.

You didn't really look very hard, did you? Took me about five seconds to go to RadioShack.com and type in "1/8" cable", press the search button and voila!

You're welcome!

Didnt look online except musiciansfriends, I checked walmart cause there cheap, radio shack & guitar center were my last choices. The last time I needed a wire from them it was 15 r.s/20 g.c.
Im about to go look on the website, 5.50 not to bad im going to pick it up today, This will work right?
I tried taking 2 shitty headphone wires and cutting them but it didnt work.

Yep, it will work. I use this type of cable to hook my iPod up to my alarm clock which has a 1/8" "MP3" input. It sounds like cr*p because the speakers in the alarm clock suck. :)

I was going to buy a new boombox, but thought I would try this first.
Its a jvc it has bass like a car, it sounds louder from a distance kinda weird.
With all the ipod stuff at walmart I was surprised, I wish my mp3 player had a aux then I could use that over the discman.

the reason that your two headphone cables did'nt work is probably because of the teflon coating (which is very thin and transparent) that's on the wires. you have to burn it off. ;)

Just use the headphone port, I do this with my iPod and it sounds really good (provided the amp/speakers at the other end are good). Just play around with the volume on your mp3 player, I usually set it at around 75%.
