For those who may care, Stephen Paul succumbed to his illness and passed away peacefully on the 22nd.

I'm very sorry to read Stephen is gone.
I loved his honest and open minded posts at RO.

May he rest in peace, he deserves that like no other.

NO FUCKING WAY

I hope this is a sick joke, every hair on my body is standing up, I feel electrical and hollow. This super sucks. What a trajedy.

And the amount of wisdom he is taking with him will never be known. He knows things about mics that neumann is dying to know. Wow.

Last time I had correspondence with him he was ripping my ass, too.

RIP.

What a loss for everyone. Well, Alan, do what Stephen would have wanted. Just build the mic. With hope for a new life in a better world.-Richie

Stephen left a legacy behind. This sweet man will be missed.

Thank you for you thoughts and kind words. I know it is appreciated to all those close to Stephen....

Sorry to say I never met him in person, but I will cherish the long emails and 3-4 hour phone calls we shared.

He had so much strength for being so physically weak.

I will miss him.

I've been thinking about this.... many people probably arent aware what this guy has taken to the grave with him. The knowledge on microphones this guy had was incredible. I wonder if he had an archive or kind of a technical diary where he kept his discoveries, ideas and stuff. It would be an even further tragedy to lose all that, as this guy was about 20 years ahead of every mic manufacturer out there right now, and they of course would kill to know whay he knew.
I didnt realize that arthritis would actually take a person, either. That sucks.

And Neumann and Mix didn't help with that either... I'm not too happy about that.

R.I.P. Stephen Paul

Man this does indeed suck. I didn't even know Stephen at all & never spoke to him (although I wish I did in retrospect). What was the exact arthritic disease that he suffered from? I would like to make a donation in his name to some organization that is trying to find a cure...any help will be greatly appreciated! Long live Stephen Paul... I did, however, read every one of his posts and there was no doubt that he was a true one-of-a-kind genius.

A Stephen Paul Foundation will be established. It has been decided the foundation will donate money to the Arthritis Foundation, as well as assist musicians with terminal and debilitated diseases.

I am sure Stephen would appreciate all those who are considering making donations to hold off until a bank can be named to accept the donations on behalf of the foundation.

More information will be released shortly...

I just come from the church, couldn't stop thinking about Stephen.

Here's a post of him from a while ago, remember this is a guy who's suffering a lot of pain.

Merry Christmas everybody, and pray for the brother.

I do remember his posts and I hope he does look down to us from above, probubly micing up his harp now.:(

If he died from arthritis then it pretty much had to be rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune system disease and for which there is no cure.

May he rest in peace.
