Winner chicken dinner!
Hey what happened to that Stephen Paul mic that was was/is supposed to come out? Anyone know anything?

Also I heard SP was coming out with a new line, the "e" series or something.

Anyone know anything about either of these developments?

The B series and C series are, I think, basically mics that were already in production at 797 audio. The next series is actually being developed by Brent Casey at PMI. I'm not sure what he's up to, but it will be interesting to see.

Somebody could ask Tony Merrill, if he'll actually talk to anyone. I used to know him years ago and have tried several times to contact him. I must have pissed him off years ago and didn't know it, because he certainly won't talk to me anymore.

Maybe Alan Hyatt or Brent Casey can answer.

I talk to Tony often. Hes cool as ever.

The C series was designed by Alan before he employed Brent. Brent designed the B series and, to the best of my knowledge, is currently working on the CS and E serieses (what's the plural of series?!?!).

The CS mics have been on display at their exhibitions for the last year or more ... I saw them last April. They have some interesting features that I've not seen on mics before, certainly not implemented in this way. Of course, we won't know how they sound till they finish them off ... as I understand it, it's about brushing up the cosmetics - they currently look a bit like the M-Audio Solaris although with a kinda 'neck' between the capsule and the body of the mic.

That much is public knowledge. As for Stephen Paul (and ignoring Big Ray's name-dropping), the mic is still officially in development although one has to wonder whether it's actually proving possible to make that mic at that price point. Time will tell ... at least it won't be opportunistic capitalism because most of us will be Harvey's age by the time it emerges at this rate ... and I'm 21!

We expect Tony to finish the last two items to be checked off and then we can build 12 for test. Tony has moved the location to make room for the new capsule assembly line. All Stephen Paul capsules will be built there as will the new upper end Studio Projects mic capsules.

Of course the capsules will be different.

If all goes the way we expect, you could see the Stephen Paul mic by July.

Sweet. What is the approximate price range going to be?

I figured this one got lost in the shuffle.

Glad to hear it's still on track.
