Hey, I want to get some cool recording stuff for christmas, but unfortunately I don't have unlimited resourses. At first I wanted to get a 4-track recorder by tascam or fostex for 100 bucks, is that a good idea? or should i get something more expensive? Then I thought maybe I should forget about recorders and jsut get a mixing thingy, and hook it into my sound card. I havent looked into that too much. Then I thought I should buy a sound card with 8 inputs and 8 outputs by audiotrak called the inca88 for 275 bucks. Right now I have 2 mics a shure 58 and a crappy radioshack mic. I want to get a set of drum mics so i can get nice sounding drums yeah. So what should I get? and what is the most effective way to get good recordings onto the computer? Thanks -Dave

My first tip would be that you use the searchfunction of this bbs. You can get most of your questions answered that way.

Gotta agree on the search. It's not that we don't want to speak VOLUMES on the subject, it's just that we already have. Take a look around, do a little homework and then peolpe here will help you fill in the gaps.:D

Ok, I searched through the database, but the information on the inca 88 was....none. Does anyone own one of these or had any experience with it?
