Hello to all,

First time posting here.

I just have a question regarding CHORUS and REVERB.

I am controlling a Roland XP-30 with Pro Audio 9.

Im trying to send chorus and reverb control messages to the XP and i'm not hearing the effects. I am able to send velocity and volume successfully.

The XP is set to Tx and RX MIDI controll messages.

I have the effect levels at 127 for testing.

Hope this is common and I'm just missing something minor here. I'm thinking I should focus on the settings in the XP.

Thanks for any help, reply with any questions about the setup.

Well, my friend told me once that Roland XP-30 is one of MIDI friendly keyboard to control. I don't know if XP-30 alows you to config it's effect chain like Korg ones. Just FYI, usualy effects more obviously heard in serial mode rather than paralel mode (GM usualy set at paralel mode). Each track/channel can control how much effect will be applied to them by sending message CC 91 for reverb (value 0~127) and CC 93 for chorus (value 0~127) from each track. :)

Thank you for the welcome,

I'll look the GM parallel mode.

Currently I have CC 91 and CC93 set to 127. When I reduce the effect volume I hear no change not even a minor change in sound.

Now CC 7 works like a charm.

I'll try out the modes tonight and let you know how that goes.

Thanks again.

Well James, got it worked out.

Looks like I had to set the channels (or part # in the XP-30) EFX output assignment to "EFX" (was set to patch)

Thanks for the help.

Nice to hear that, Jsar78 :) We learn something new everyday, right :)
