I have a Phillips Stand alone CD audio recorder, and it's great! Shop around and you can get blank Audio CD's for about $1.33 each.

I have a Phillips CD 560 Stand alone recorder. I love it! I compare my masters to Commercially released albums, and they sound pretty close. Volume is up there, but of course their $$$ effects and $$$ microphones make a difference. My customers are always satisfied with their CD.

I have a Harman Kardon CDR2, and it's fantastic! I buy Nashua brand disks from staples at $1.50 per CD w/jewel case in a ten box, and 50 on a spindle for $40. And like Dom, never a complaint. Plus, I can pick it up and take it with me to record elsewhere.

I've been researching the Alesis Masterlink. From all information, it's supposed to be very good and will accept about any type of input. The input/tracks are stored on a hard drive and there is software in the box to set up and burn Redbook CD's.

Costs more than Phillips' products; somewhere between 1500 and 1650 depending what supplier you talk to. It is a hot item at the moment and I do believe I'm going to get one unless I hear some negative reports on the box.

oh, I forgot to tell you that I also have gotten, of late, disks from CompUSA at $9.99 for ten in sleeves.
