hi, I recently got the sr-16 drum machine, and am trying to create a nicee rock n roll user kit, but there's so many choices and options that I'm findin it very difficult. Does anyone know if there are suggested user kits available anywhere on the web, or does anyone have any they are willing to share? thanks,

sach

Concentrate on one thing at a time.
Go through nothing but bass drums and write down your favorites.
Do the same for every other class of percussion(toms,hi-hats etc.)

Worry about tuning, panning and stacking later on.You need to work up a vocabulary of pure drum sounds and get used to having them.Later on,when you are more secure, experiment.

And remember-Rome wasn't built in a day

thanks man , i guess youre right. i'll try work 1 step at a time

One thing I like to do is scope out the really dry drum sounds. You can always add reverb or whatever later. And drums can be eq'd to sound different than what the machine outputs. Just food for thought.
