Speaking of sucking...

Hey everyone,
Well, here's a tongue in cheek piece of......pop. It needs to be remixed, I did it a while ago, so any tips and pointers and opinions would be great.

If this sucks, well, I guess it's supposed to...but if it really does suck, please say so.

In a great song, great recording, great performance type of way.. I like her rough sounding voice here.. Nice backups too..

can't really say too much other than, this should be on the radio now!

That was fast! Yes, those are real drums, though I "Pro Tooled" them in an attempt at...uh, sucking. :) I think, though, that they sound a bit weak, I think they need some beefing or compressing, etc.

Being the Macle fan that I am, I believe that I've heard this one before.:eek: I think I caught it on your page one time.I know im not dreaming!

Anyway, I think it's right up there with the rest of your tunes.Top notch recording and I always dig your g-friends voice......I could spot her voice in one note a mile away!(does she smoke cigs?:eek:)..Thats a good thing though.....she has her own unique voice that doesnt sound like anyone else....there is no reason this shouldnt be on the radio along with the rest of your tunes.....the masses would buy this and I hope that you can find a way to get it to the masses.

a bit confused by "Pro Tooled" the drums? Heavily editing them, or just doing loops etc?

I was a bit confused the other day in your email...about "hating loops" - none of your new stuff will use loops (made from your own samples) anymore..? or...you just hate it but still do it, one of those things...

hey btw I have an NTK arriving tomorrow (i hope) thanks to your tracks. maybe if no one will sign you, you could just do an endorsement deal with Rode and Empirical Labs. How many times have we heard "macle gets a great sound with his NTK!" on this board.

but getting signed would be a bit better (stay indie!)

I asked him if it was ok to upload them awhile back and he said it was.I did it so that a guy that used to post here regularly could get them after he moved overseas.

alright this song is completly golden...everything about it..i love the way her voice breaks up a bit on "sssssuuuuuuuuuuckkkks"...very cool..the ONLY thing i didnt like was the "WOO HOO HOO"..part ..thats it.

i dunno, I kind of like the "woo hoo hoo" thing....maybe just a smidge loud, but...like i said...this song is "cute"...i wouldn't expect anything else out of it.

and it could be some dumb shit for the audience to do live ;)

Wes-Thanks. Yeah, cute, which is, uh...anyway, funny thing about a girl singing it, is, I was gonna sing it at first, and it was just sort of a joke, making fun of how everything sucks, you know, but then those "people" that I've mentioned before became interested, mainly in Max, so we thought she should sing it. So that worked out (hopefully, with whatever we do next, they won't want to shut me out...or up! :) ). Regarding the drums, yeah I heavily edited them. As far as the hating loops (and drum machines) comment, well I've always kinda hated them, but sometimes I've been into them. Sometimes you just get lost in things not even thinking whether you like them, or trying to be commercial or whatever. But, I've been out listening to a lot of "what's going on", and the drums and the general sound of most stuff, just really starts bugging the shit out of me, I'm just sort of fed up with hip hop and rap, and a lot of the influence it's had on music in general. So, hopefully, I won't be looping anything anymore (famous last words!). I hope I didn't come off negative as far as what you're doing though. I apologize if I did. As far as endorsement deals, yeah, where do I sign, man I'm tired of being poor!! :D
