Are the speakers in the brown wooden cabinet going to hurt my 16 track recorder?

No, because the tape transport is not close to them. But if there are cassette tapes in the case near the right speaker they could get partially erased. Same goes for the tape in the cassette player on the left.

Yes, store them at your Mistress' House.
That way, you'll have an excellent excuse to sneak out.
A few feet away will be fine. It depends on your set-up.
