Does it make a diffrence what type i'm using?
i need a chord to connect the preamp to my vs880ex should i be investing alot of money on either of these chords?

Yes it does. On the S/PDIF cable don NOT use an RCA patch cord that is meant for connecting stereo type gear. Use a video grade 75 ohm cable that't terminated in RCAs. For analog cables, stay with a good quality cable and try to keep the as short as possible.

yeah

thanks for the spdif cable answer but how do i work out a "good quality" cable?

I just bought my first S/PDIF cable - I got a Canare from my local Sam Ash.

Generally, the label or documentation will say if the cable is meant for digital formats like S/PDIF....

I can't wait to hook my J-station to my new Delta 66.... keeping the signal digital! Will do it tonight.
