I have 2 JoeMeek VC6Qs now, but am looking for some more channels to feed to my Delta 1010LT. What would you go for?

I never tried the SP, but I own the M-Audio Octane and have no complaints. It's a great sounding preamp especially for the price. Are you going into the analog inputs into the Delta? I don't think the Delta has ADAT lightpipe ins, so that might be a feature (and part of the cost) that you don't need on the Octane. I'm sure this helped very little. :o

The 1010LT has 8 analog ins and a stereo S/PDIF in. I can pick up a new sealed in box Octane at a local music store for $399 plus tax because they're blowing it out for whatever reason, so I think my decision has been made for me. If I don't like it I can probably recoup most of that on eBay anyway.

About the SP828, I've been looking at it for some time now. I have an SP C1 and an SP B1 and like them. I have a friend with a VTB1 pre who's pretty happy with it so I have good experiences with SP stuff. However, this SP828 has been out for quite awhile now and I've not heard or read of anyone saying they've even heard one. Weird.

Thanks,

You probbaly wouldn't go wrong with either one, you don't really need the adat from the octane, but could still use it with the 8 analog inputs on the delta 1010, having the option to use it if you ever upgraded your soundcard.

The sp828 looks cool and probably sounds pretty good for the price, plus is has some cool features on it.
