DJ,

Re-read JH's post..................very carefully!!!
I read it and for example... here is another lie "I would still love to know what your reason is for all the PMI hate, you've never given one". I hate liars.

"I hate liars."

Which has got to do with personalities, and nothing to do with mics.

I drop by this forum every few months, just to see, and the last time I was here you were at Hyatt's throat. I come back, and you're *still* at it. Furphuxache.

"DJ ... Spin that shit!"

I bet that was you on the decks in 8 Mile ;)

Chill the fuck out mate! Get a grip, I put Justin right on your reasons! That doesn't mean he has to agree with you.

Oh and do you realise that if you go elsewhere you'll start with a big fat ZERO post count so nowhere near as many newbies will mistake you for a constructive critic as do here? Seriously.

DJL, you do realize its very possible for someone who doesn't visit this message board everyday to not read every single post made by you. So calling me a lair I find to be rather unjustified. If you did address your dislike for all things PMI previously I must have missed it. Yes I realize now that it was referenced to here in this very thread. What I'm having trouble with is why the three of us that occasionally post here, Brent, Alan, and myself have no recollection of any of these events. While Alan may have a dislike for someone, however deep the extent of that dislike may go, he would never not offer service on one of our products. So now you want to question his accomplishments, fine. Here is your open invitation to come visit our office and see, and hold with your own hands the gold and platinum records on his wall. Other forms of proof with regards to who he has played and toured with in the past could also be dug up with a bit of effort. If your going to try and scrutinize everything about him, don't you think it would only be fair to put yourself under the same microscope? I think all anyone knows of you on this message board is, you hate us and will stop and nothing to make everyone aware of it.

And to all those who are as sick as we are of reading the same thing over and over, I sincerely apologize to you for putting more fuel on the fire. But like you I want to see this stop because the microphone forum of HR.com has to potential to be a great message board but its being drug down by a few. Hopefully this could be the means to an end.

As the President of PMI Audio Group, I wish to make the following statement to this group.

I don’t care who it is, or where it comes from. Should anyone have a problem with any one of our products, we will fix or replace it at our option for free. For the last three years, we have received microphones that were burned in a car fire, left in a basement and submerged in water, and yet we have fixed these all for free. None of it was under warranty. We have not charged for any repair, even from those who have bought our mics “used”. All we ask is that you send it in to us with a copy of your purchase receipt. This would include people who say bad things about our mics.

As for DJL’s agenda, you all must realize, it is not about me...It is about him.

Justin, I only know about "all" your dads so called accomplishments because he likes bragging about them... so I questioned the Yes and J. Geils tour and etc... what was the name of his band? Go to the thread that noisedude told you about (also where you asked but never bothered to check for the answer) and you will see I answered the question. Here's a link http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=116610

Nicely stated, Alan. I have some vendors I work with that could use a lesson or 2 in Customer Service from you.

I don't know waht the deal is, but lately (or ever?) we just can't have any kind of civil discourse about SP. I don't want to get all nostalgic for "the old days", but it's gotten out of hand. Quality people are hanging out elsewhere, and the benefit of their experience is now lost forever to those of us here. From now on, my personal mantra is going to be Record more, post less.

For the record: I currently do not own any Studio Projects products, though I have in the past, and will again someday when my wife lets me use the credit card again. ;)

Wow,
So I am sort of new to the board and I had a really dumb question and now look what I caused! I have only played with the microphone a litle bit but I like it a lot so far. I use to be using an Oktava MK319 and I think this sounds a lot better on my voice. Granted I am new, it still seems sort of funny that (I have read most of the other Studio projects on this board while looking for a microphone) there are 3 actual responses to my initial post and then the rest are this ongoing feud. It's too bad becasue there are a lot of useful threads on this forum, and it makes it hard to find them when you have to look through all this other banter. It seems to make the whole forum rather counterproductive. And I don't mean to pick on DJL, I can understand if he has a gripe, but it would be more informative for him to be more specific about his problem then to make uninformative (and ultimately incorrect--the mount on my microphone is indeed metal) statements like "be careful not to strip the cheap plastic threading on the holder.". I mean honestly, that doesn't help anyone make a judgement about whether or not to buy the microphone. It would be way more helpful if you are going to criticize to be specific. Well I guess I need to take my own advice and just let this be.
I just had to say something, because I never imagined this would go so astray.
-Mike

I think it's true. Although it could be a genius marketing scheme by posing as someone so obnoxiously opposed to your business that people are actually driven towards buying your products. Whether that's his intention or not, DJL has caused me to read so many reviews of SP stuff to make sure it's actually that good that I'm now more convinced than ever that I'm needing to buy some of their stuff.

Alan - does that include when mics have been mistaken for egg-beaters, and is it true that on occassion you have in fact been sent damaged whisks for repair? Does your repair stretch to cooking utensils if someone gets a marker pen and writes 'Kitchen Projects' on the side?

I only ask because Brent seems to have certain views on the repair of such items and I wondered if it was company policy.

(Just trying to take the heat outta this ... )

Sounds fair to me. Since I already own an NTK and a groove tube mb-1, would you suggest a c3 or t3, since my non tubes are baby bottle, at 3035 4033, and what about that l2d2 monster? how's that pan out?

I think it's phenomenal that Alan & Co. come by this board. It's almost proof of the miraculous.

One of the best things about buying a Studio Projects mic is the calibre of the company that brings us the product.

I know some of you are going to take this the wrong way... but I think it's a fair question.

Does the above mean that if someone buys a Studio Projects mic (used or new) and after using it and or abusing it even to the point that it may look like an egg beater, PMI will fix or replace the mic for free? And how long is this offer good for?

Justin jumped in and saved me the trouble. I can't say with absolute certainty about the C1 shock, but my C-3 shock, which I believe is identical, is most definitely steel throughout, and is similar to shock mounts sold by Rode. The Rodes are either plastic with a brass thread insert or steel throughout. Here's a request for both of the above:
DJL- please email Justin directly and take your best shot at resolving your issues, or at least tell Justin to bugger off somewhere other than this thread.
Justin- let me know when the C-4 shockmounts are upgraded because I have some of the originals that have always sucked, and continue to suck, in spite of the fact that the mics are just fine. I'd be happy to buy a pair.-Richie
I use to own one of the first c1's before there were some changes made and I don't remember my old c1 having metal threads on the holder... however, I could be wrong... but, I know the guy I sold it to and will find out if it did or not... but I'll have to track down the person he resold it to first.

The C Series mounts threads are metal and always have been, no need to track it down.

ADDED: If this is a "we will fix it or replace it for free, for life... no matter what" type warranty... then even I must admit this is one of the best warranties I've ever seen. Zippo Lighters use to have a similar warranty and Craftsman wrenches (spelling?) still does. And if this is the type of warranty that PMI is offering it doesn't get any better than that and it should be posted on your website.

On the other hand... if PMI is NOT offering that type of warranty Alan's statement is misleading.

I'm so tired of coming here and reading your posts. I wish you were banned. You serve no good purpose here; on the contrary, you are the root cause of most of the flame wars in this section.

I suggest to all we report DJLs posts and ask he be banned.

That seems like a legitimate question to me.

ah, fuck, I promised myself I'd stay out of the mic forum. sorry.

IMO, I asked a fair question... and from now on I'm also going to report anyone who harasses me for asking questions and etc, and I just started with your post.

Anyone would have a long way to go to catch up to you on harassing others.
