I have read many threads concerning soundproofing tactics or techniques and I was hoping to find out some cost effective methods.

I am almost prepared to use the double wall effect -
(outside to the inside)

1/2" Dry wall
2X4 Wood Stud
1/2" Sound Diffuser
1/2" Drywall
2X4 Wood Stud
1/2" Sound Diffuser
1/2" Drywall

and then attach acoustic panels on the ceiling and 3/4 of the way down the walls.

I am planning to use this booth for multiple types of recordings

ie: drums, guitar, vocals...etc.

I would like to ask if this anybody has any recomendations for specs or materials. I would also like to find out if i would use the same plan for the ceiling and floor. The floor is a concrete basement. And finally the perimeter space for the booth is 6X6 foot.

Thanks in advance to all

You have alot of materials there that would work, but the main thing you would need for isolation is have two seperate walls that are not connected. <or very much>

Like:
1/2" Drywall
5/8" Drywall
2x4 stud w/ Insulation in the space
2" AIRSPACE
2x4 stud w/ Insulation...
1/2" Drywall

That would make it much better with the same materials for soundproofing.

Then you would want to line the innerds w/ mostly absorptive materials. Like to what is listed above, you could frame in another 4" of space and put some insulation covered with fabric.

You would also want to change the size. Like 5x7 or so. You want to stay away from squares rooms.
I'm sure more ppl could help more also.

This post should of started in the Studio Building forum, but good luck!
