(I bought it so long ago that I still thought it was a good idea to buy high end gear from Sam Ash!),

the sounddelux can't handle a high sound pressure, though (125 dB SPL), so I'd be cautious with "screaming" and micing horns.

so youre saying it cant handle loud singers or horns? wouldnt that mean that drum kits and 4x12 cabs are out too?
their site says different.

well ask harley96.

hey harley, what have you used yours on and how did you like the results?(what are you using for a front end?)

I've used it on quite a few kick drums and it worked out quite well,I prefer it over the D112 but I'm going to buy a beta 52 in the future. As far as micing cabinets and all this mic can handle pretty much anything you throw at it and deliver a smile on your face.Considering it's my " pride and joy" mic in my studio I'm a little partial to it.I own a few 4041's , sm57's, and considering it's my only LD condenser mic in my studio right now I'm very pleased with the results.I'll tell ya,4041's are excellent on overheads,I use the 57's on toms, snare, and I use the U195 on kick...

that would be my situation too harley, it would be my only ldc. right now the best mic i own is an at 4033.
i have heard nothing but good things about this mic(and the soundelux company for that matter) for a long time now.
i still am wondering about the phantom-c.

Like I said, I love the mic but my one complaint is with the shockmount. It comes with felt on the inside of the holder which is basically all but gone from setup and teardown.I emailed them about this last Thursday and I'm still waiting for a response.Otherwise, I doubt you would be dissappointed with this mic and if by chance you become dissappointed with it I'll take it off your hands...;) ;)
