I was planning on getting a Soundcraft M12, actually I ordered one before but the order got screwed up so I decided it was fate and held off for a bit.

Well now I am really ready for a mixer, but I was reading some things about the A&H MixWizard...

It's $200 more than the soundcraft. Of course, it has 4 extra channels which is cool, inserts on every channel, etc. Feature wise, I'd say worth the money to me even though I don't *need* 16 channels...except that it doesn't have a digital output - but that isn't such a big thing. I'd probably use analog anyways.

My decision will come down to the EQ/Preamps, I've heard such great things about the Soundcraft M Series EQ, and the Ghost pres it uses...

How would the A&H stand up? Or should I just save the $ and get the M12.

I have a little Allan & Heath WZ16:2DX and its ok, but the preamps aren't so great, and I've never used a Soundcraft M12 before.

i see...well then, guess i will save my money. i like the soundcraft feature set a bit better anyways.

i have a WZ 14:4:2 and i only use it for the preamps. i use it for recording live off the floor. i set it up so i get levels to the recorder then i use the 6 auxes to feed headphone mixes. i find the pres to be very useable, especialy as far as mixer pres go.

You'll be happier with the Soundcraft then.
