Hello there, totally new to the forum and totally a noob.

Well yesterday I noticed a terrible popping then hiss from my left moniter as I attempted to record internally through NCH Wavepad. (I use some pretty ghetto programs, due mainly to the simplicity)

Okay so pretty much I was recording a clip from Audacity to NCH Wave. guitar track, panned left (about 70%) and I was recording it internally into a mono file (With NCH wavepad) and first off, I noticed that when I hit record, this pop occurred, followed by the his. Also when I playback from Audacity or Steinberg Nuendo (Funny how I use Audacity huh?). If I close the program, or stop playback, about two minutes will go by and a pop will occur again. But this time, hissing stops and both speakers work normally. Vexing.

And if I actually attempt to record, only pan right will pick up in the recording. I'm assuming this is something to do with the sound card, but thats just a shot in the dark, seeing as I know extremely little about recording and these softwares.

Possible culprits(?):

-I use three different recording softwares, Nuendo, Audacity and NCH Wavepad. I also have installed, FL Studio 9 and I use Guitar Pro 5, which I know can record through MIDI.

-GP5's RSE brings a pop when ran now too, also making the left moniter weak and distorted, possibly affecting everything? I've always had problems with that damn RSE.

-Only recently did I start using Steinberg Nuendo. It's completely new to me, and this happened only a few days after I began dabbling around with it.

If anything can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated.

Why on earth are you using audicity and wavepad when you spent $1200 on Nuendo?!!!! Sounds like your using warez software. NOT COOL!!!

Just cause I dont know how to do anything on Nuendo yet. hence: noob

The reason you don't know how to do anything on Nuendo is because you keep changing software looking for a quick and easy fix instead of choosing one program and toughing it out.

But 5 posts in you still don't say the name of the fucking sound card.

Brilliant!

We don't support people who have pirated software. You obviously do not know what you are doing so it is also obvious that you did not buy Nuendo $1800 top of the line studio mixing package. Especially when there are so many alternatives out there that are much less expensive and no one but a professional recording engineer or recording artist would even think about spending that kind of money on software. http://www.steinberg.net/en/shop/buy_product/product/nuendo-5.html

If you want help then delete the stolen software you downloaded from some torrent.

I suppose you paid for:
FL Studio 9: $99
NCH Wavepad: $59
Guitar Pro 5: $69

You can try Reaper for free and then it is only $40 - even a hacker can afford that.

Support the people who develop these tools and then the community will support you - until then you will have to get support from the warez sites. Or you could just call Steinberg, I am sure they would be happy to send someone over and help you out.

In addition to what arcadeko said:

If you can't do something in Reaper by following the very excellent User Guide, then no high-end software will be able to help you, pirated or otherwise.
