i have an echo mia midi soundcard, and an altec lansing 5.1 system hooked up (i know, i need monitors, one day the money will come for those i hope
) anyways, the altecs worked on my old soundblaster card, but i'm getting a horrible popping noise when i plug them into the echo mia.
the jacks on the altecs are mini (theres three of them for some reason) the inputs on the mia are 1/4" so i had to use two adapters to plug them in (theres only two inputs, so can't plug all three cables in)...i tried plugging them in with every combination, but cant' get it to work. if i let the cables hang out a little bit, i don't get the clipping and popping, but a stronger background hiss, and thats how i've been working lately because unfortunately thats my best option...i'll be very appreciative if anyone can stear me in the right direction on what to do to solve this problem...thank you.
