ive got a sony notebook computer and the time has finally rolled around to update my soundcard from the original one. i'd love to update to a event cards, delta ect... but i dont have the card space on my notebook like a normal pc would. what are my options for getting a profession audio card?
thanks in advance!

thanks for the link, i did a search through the forums and found everything i needed. if i were to purchase the hammerfall card would i also need to buy a A/D converter such as the lucid 9624 for better quality? or do i not need a card if i get the lucid box?

check out the motu 828. it is an 8 in 8 out external sound module that is connected by firewire. The price is a little cheaper than buying the hammerfall pcmcia card plus the external box. One advantage of the motu is that it has xlr by 2 and phantom power. i would not go for usb because it is too slow and can only support 2in\2out simmultaneously.

I like my 828 because I can assign tracks to be monitored without any latency while I'm recording. I think the RME can do this as well with even more mixing options but it is much more expensive.
