I have a flat-panel iMac, and I found out it doesn't have a PCI slot, at least from what I have read, so are there any soundcards that are good for like $200 that don't need to connect to a PCI slot?

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah, you got the idea.

Do you have any FireWire ports on your iMac?
The transfer speeds are greater, and you'll have less of a latencey issue with FireWire.
Although, I don't think those USB interfaces have much of a problem with latencey anyway.

I can't offer any input with those, since I don't own either one. But I am looking at the MobilePre USB as well for an interface, so I'll be watching this one.

The Firewire ones are too pricy, unfortunately, what I need is a soundcard for $200, and the bottom one I would be willing to get.

When it says three inputs and three outputs or two inputs and two outputs, wouldn't that be a pretty limiting soundcard? I wouldn't be able to hook up many instruments to my soundcard, and would get a Soundcraft M8 for no perticular reason since the two links I provided said they only had three/two inputs.

You wont be dissapointed in the m-audio interface....they have a good product. Widely used here by many.
