Hi ! I'm Dez and I need some advice.
I'm new to digital audio recording and plan to setup my computer for
one man home studio recording.
It's mainly for my songwriting and recording of demo.
I plan to record within the computer and then output my demo using a CDR.
The biggest problem I have now is to find a perfect soundcard for this purpose.
I read through countless reviews on the net and realised that most professional
cards are really expensive. But also know that consumer or gamer soundcard
will produce alot of clipping and noise when recording digital audio.
Can you please help me on this?
I do have a few soundcard options in mind.
1.Creative Soundblaster Live. - one salesman told me this is a gamer card,
too lousy to record decent diigital audio.
2. Yamaha Waveforce 192XG
These 2 cards are readily and easily available here and they're quite affordable.
3. Gadget Labs /424
4. Emagic Audiowerk2
These 2 are not so easy to get especially the Gadget Labs, I got to mail order it.
Both prices are quite steep for me.
Can you advise me on this? I'm really at a complete loss now.
I have another question..Is it a must to have a mixer console in between the soundcard and your instruments?
Thanks a million!!
