I just installed soundforge on new computer. It pops bad and media player wont play burnned cd's. Just distortion noiose. It is set up excactly as my other computer. I also have sonar as with my other computer. The same guy set up both .He is very good but he is stumpped with the new 'puter issue. It a dell pent 4 80 gig 512 memory. Have checked all settings and matched them to old computer, buffer etc. Any clues?? have motu 2408II and windows xp. Thanks,Jim

Just a guess but it sounds like a possible driver issue. Have went to the MOTU site and downloaded the latest drivers?

yes, kicd of

I bought it( motu2408II) from guitar center used withour disc. I downloaded all drivers and installed. It works ok for sonar but not for SF.Maybe I need different drivers. The guy that is doing the install for me thought it might be that. Thanks,Jim

could it be

a compatability issue with the older motu mk II and the brand new computer and new mediaPLAYER software/drivers? Even store bought CD playes with terrible pops in SF.I use windows xp in new computer and motu mkII,2000 in old computer with motumkIII

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Did you make sure that the bit rate in SF is set to 16, not 24?

OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>WAVE>uncheck try to open at 24bit

yep

did that 3 times I think it still may be a compatability issue with drivers between the motu 2408MkII AND WINDOWS XP. At least that is I think.Jim

I think that you might be correct, have you updated WIN XP, with the SP2 pack?
