what card should I get? i did want alot of speakers, but would i connect those thru the mixer or sound card?

i found this but not sure i really need that. plus its rly rly old. what do u all think?

thanks.

If you are using PT LE (?) then I don't think you can use a M-audio soundcard. M-Audio only for M-powered version, after what I've understood. But haven't tried, so can't say 100% sure. Another issue could be that PT would only recognize one of the sound cards, since the M-audio is gonna be inbuilt in the machine it could be difference. Or else I think you can find this information on the Digidesign.com.

Good luck anyways;)

Ok. I did a fast research and what I've found out was that the Delta is incompatible with PTLE, along with all other M-audio interfaces. Other interfaces, such as Mackies Onyx, could also run with Pro Tools, with a special driver. But it'll run on PT M-powered. That's the bad thing about Digi  It's expensive.. The only thing you can combine over the different versions is the control surfaces. Have you ever thought of upgrading your current LE interface.

I _THINK_ you can combine two 003 racks if you have the correct cables. My self, personally aren't into the high-up Le versions. I sure enjoyed working with the 003 factory :D Otherwise the Digi site have a lot of information and a forum that covering all kinds of connection/expanding issues or thought to PT :)

So I should go with PTMP and my Mackie mixer will work with that, right?

Then I'm lost on the sound card still.

No, you could use the Mackie as a soundcard.

http://www.mackie.com/products/onyx1220i/ read more about it here. it's a firewire output on the mackie, aight? But you also have a eleven rack you could use as well, don't know if you could use more interfaces at the same time in the M-audio version. But then you also could use the Delta. But after my opinion is that a bit of waste of money. If you have a Mackie 12 channel input, and an Eleven Rack to switch along if you need another interface.

The mackie has 8 mono inputs, the same as the Delta? The only difference is that the delta has 8 outputs as well.. You should read around on the digi site and the mackie site. Try to figure out what's the best, and try out different suggestion, perhaps you'll be lucky and find what you want;)

I gave you REP, I can't believe I missed that on the Mackie. :(

I have a huge studio list, if you wanna see it PM me, I may need some other help. :p

Thanks. Anyone else is free to post.

Oh nice! Thanks :D Just send it to me! Hehe! Just love to figure out solutions! The bad thing is that I trying to get a job and save some money to I'm done at school to move out and built a studio in my house. So for now I just stick to a Mbox and an A&H stereo out mixer, and alot of mics and etc ;) Good luck with whatever you might do :D

Moha! I got your'e pm. answered, quick answer. Haven't really got 100% into this site yet. Added you as well!: )
