Hello,

I am using Adobe Audition and a Sound Blaster 5.1 card.
I cannot get my recording quality above 44mhz.
I am using Telex M-560 microphone for now, with a new and improved mic on the way!

What do I need to do get CD quality sound recording?
I

Thank you in advance for any help.
John

CD quality is 44.1 kHz (not mHz!!) with a 16 bit depth. Your Sound Blaster actually operates at 48kHz, doing sample rate conversion as it goes and mangling your sound.

Sample rate and bit depth are not your issues - look at any of Blue Bear's posts, check out his reading list from th elink to his "articles" web page and buy one or more of his recommended primers.

and the soundcrapper has got to go if you want better quality

Thanks.

Forgive me, I only had one cup of coffee when I made my first post.

Yes...I am recording at 48mhz (oops).

What card can someone recommend to get the best possible sound for recording, WHILE maintaining 5.1 surround sound for other stuff on my computer?

Thanks,
John
