Hey people,

I'm new here and am embarrassed to admit I know pretty much nothing about recording. However, I've had a go anyway and thought maybe some of you may have some advice about things I can do to improve the mix. Like I said all I really know how to use is volume and pan and that's all I've done here, really. Neither of these are completely finished but any thoughts are welcome.

Please ignore the ending of New song III as I haven't thought of anything decent yet.

These were recorded using my Pod HD500, EZ drummer and 4front bass module (I could use a better bass VST actually if anyone can suggest a good one).

New Song take 4.2 - I thought this sounded pretty good. Drums were nice. They dominate the mix a little bit in the last section. Guitars sounded decent.

New Song III take 1.7 - hard to keep up with the numbers :). Same comments as above, although the guitars here are missing a little high end sizzle. Like around 4K-5Khz. Or maybe they're just turned down a little too far.

Yeah, sorry about all the numbers. I plan on adding vocals to some of these but unfortunately I can't really sing so I'll need some help.
Maybe once there are some lyrics I'll have some idea of what to call them.

Thanks for the comments, I'll have a think about the guitars.
