Sonar sampling rate problem

I have some sonar projects recorded using 16/44.1 sampling. I have switched the bits to 24 and the sampling to 96. on the Sonar options.

When I open the files recorded with 16/44.1, I get the following message "Ubable to open playback audio device. Device may not support the current project's audio format or maybe in use".

Suggestions?

Scan through the table of contents in your manual again. I don't have it handy, but I know, 100%, that there is a way to "upsample." I just don't recall if you do it inside the higher-resolution project, or export and save a higher-resolution wave from the smaller project.

Or have you tried to change the resolution (so to speak) of the existing project? I don't know if Sonar would like that very much.

Are you sure your sound card supports 24 bit, 96 kHz?

Did you reprofile the card when you made the change?

I have an M-Audio 2496 card and I changed the setting in the card mixer.

Did you change the settings in Sonar? And reprofile it?

Yes.

I know I'm supposed to upsample it but I'm not sure how it's done.

i've never heard of on-the-fly upsampling within the project.
