Wicked Machine
I hadn't had a chance to play around with the new Perfect Space verb until today. Man, there are some nice lush verbs in this! I've even found some presets that are usable. Got a little testing to do but I'm liking these verbs better than Pantheon or Sonitus so far.

I really got into Perfect Space when I stopped simply considering it a reverb plug and started using hardware impulses as well. Go to Noisevault Studio's website and download some of the impulses they have there. There are lots of them made from high end hardware units that can really color a track nicely. It may not be the same as tracking through say a Neve preamp, but it may be the next best thing. I've started adding Perfect Space with a bass amp impulse to my DI bass tracks and I really like the results. Also a little bit of the Avalon compressor impulse on heavy guitars has really been fattening them up. It's not the answer for everything, but when you're looking to add something interesting to a track, or sweeten a vocal or something like that, it's a great tool. Definitely not just reverb!

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out/

Good tip indeed, there are some Neve POrtico tape saturator impulses floating around somewhere too. :)

Question... whats the secret to making this Perfect Space work? Its not a plug you pop open and tweak obviously, AND, when I open it in a track, my songs wont play. I have the juice to run tons of plugs and several reverbs at the same time, so I know thats not it. I really want to try this out, part of the reason I got 5, but I havent had a chance to make it work yet. Any settings I shoould try to make it work?

Damn, I wish I knew what to tell you there. It simply shows up in my VST plug in list and I put it in the effects bin just like any other effect. I've also ran several instances of it on certain occasions. I don't think there is anything specail you need to do to get it to run, at least I don't think there should be. Is there anything else abnormal going on?

I've got a question...where is this Perfect Space Verb? I can't find it on my system. I have Sonar 5 Studio.

Hate to tell you this dog, but Perfect Space only comes with the Producer Edition of S5.

Ok, at least it makes sense I couldn't find it. I thought maybe I was just missing stuff that I should look at using. I hate when I do that... :D

Did you get this figured out?

NO, I show no VST plugins at all. I do however have UAD-1 card with their plugins and I thought they are VST.I tried the VST wizzard and it shows perfect space in the wizzard but thats all.
