What have you guys found to be the most ADAT friendly program, Sonar or Protools?

I have just got my system in place using 3 ADAT XT20s through a HDSP9652.
I have no use for MIDI and my main interest is automated mixing and snap shot storage. The vocal pitch correction feature in Sonar 5 looks interesting. Does this feature only come in Sonar 5? Is it found in Protools?

Thanks for any advise!

I guess it depends on how much money you want to spend, and what version of pro tools your looking at. The "light" version or the full blown $15000-$20000 pro tools. I would say Sonar and Pro Tools light would be about on par with each other as long as you have a card that can handle all the inputs( so you dont have to make multiple passes to get every thing in there). But if you get a good enough set of converters, you could skip the ADATs all together and go straight in to the comp.( I have 3 ADATS also, but one is broke and one is fucking up really bad. Im just using them as converters right now).
I often thought about gettting PT light just to have a PT format to take to my buddys mac daddy PT set up for editing. But either way, rightous converters will be needed for a better sound. So that brought on this thought, Im thinking of ditching the digital and going back to analogue (2" Otari or something of that nature with good head life) and just wheel the machine over to his place( yeah I know its a pain in the ass) for dumping the tape to PT for the editing and mixing...........sorry...got off track.
Pitch correction can come in a plug in for either. Ive only used Antares Auto Tune (3 or 4, I dont remember). It worked OK. Theres probably better ones out now. Just my thoughts.

Well, Pro Tools LE will not allow you to input or output all 24 channels simultaneously. I believe that you can only do 18 total (8 analog, 8 digital via ADAT lightpipe, and 2 s/pdif). For you to get all those channels running you will have to use some extra hardware to interface with your PT interface. Seems like a big pain to me. All of the other standard applications however will allow you to interface all 24 ins and outs without any additional hardware.

Pro Tools demo?

I have succesfully got Sonar5 to interface with my system, but I sure would like to download a demo of Pro Tools to compair. I downloaded a demo of PT 7 but I can't get it to work as I need an M-Box or something. Is there a lower end version somewhere for demo download that will interface with my setup?
Thanks,
Steve
